Selectboard Meeting Minutes
(APPROVED)
In attendance: John Alexander, Chair, David Stevens and Nancy Mallary, Selectmen, Greg Gallagher, Town Clerk, Debi Rash, Assistant Town Clerk. Darcey Libby, Dennis Desmarais, Gerry Saindon, Bill Perkins, Gail Brown and Anne Alexander.
John Alexander called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM.
The meeting went into executive session to discuss personnel issues.
The meeting came out of executive session at 6:00 PM.
David moved and Nancy seconded for the Town to seek "Party" status in the UPC wind development project for the purpose testimony on the view shed affect and other interests. Motion passed.
The select board reviewed correspondence.
David read a letter from Gail Brown announcing her intent to resign from her listers position at some later date.
Nancy moved and David seconded to have Greg send letters to all dog owners who were licensed in 2005 and not in 2006, with the exception of any deceased dogs that he is aware of. Motion passed.
John read a letter he had sent to Greg pointing out two errors in his deed (recorded several years ago, before Greg was Town Clerk). He asked that Greg’s staff check the recordings as best they can when they have time.
David moved and Nancy seconded to send letters to town officials inviting them to Emergency Training to be held May 9 from 6 to 9 PM at the Westmore Fire Station. Motion passed.
Bill Perkins, Cemetery Commissioner, discussed mowing the cemetery with the board.
Greg was asked to contact VLCT RE liability insurance needed for lawn mowing and small part time jobs.
Gail Brown asked the board to consider setting up a building maintenance fund each year at Town Meeting.
Greg will deal with Barton Electric and the Tompkins on the tree on our joint borders.
John had to leave the meeting for other business.
David moved and Nancy seconded to ask Dennis to help Gerry put the dock in at the boat launch. Motion passed.
Gail reported that she had told Phil Towne that the town had canceled any fence building planes.
Nancy moved and David seconded to authorize Greg to purchase the NEMRC proposal #2 Town Clerk and Tax Administration and related support for $4102.50 form the USDA School House Grant funds. Motion passed.
Nancy moved and David seconded to recommend John sign the Besaw letter with Millie Davis. Motion passed.
Nancy moved and David seconded to accept the 04/04/06 Minutes as written. Motion passed.
Nancy moved and David seconded to approve Select Orders and Payroll orders #8. Motion passed.
David was issued a key to the Municipal Building entrance doors.
Greg was asked to call Francis Taylor if we can leave the old Dodge truck at his garage while we put it out to bid.
Nancy moved and David seconded to adjourn at 9:00 PM. Motion passed.
Nancy moved and David seconded to approve and authorize to pay Select Orders #26 and Select Payroll #26. Motion Passes.
Nancy moved and David seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:17 PM. Motion passed.
