Present at the Tower LN inspection at 5 PM: John Alexander, David Stevens, Dennis Desmarais, Annalei and David Babson, Rollie Swartwout, Ronald Peaslee, Lisa Nelson, John and Carol Westinghouse, Karen Coffey and Steve Paxton.

Dennis reported that he has graveled Long Pond Road. The bomagging will start Thursday or Friday. He would like to replace some culverts while he is working there.

David moved and John seconded to replace culverts on Long Pond for $1180.96. Motion passed.

Alan Cole has delivered firewood to the garage.

At this time, the participants for the Tower Lane Hearing had all arrived and the floor was opened up for testimony.

Letters were received from: Penelope Newcomb, Ronald Peaslee, David Bradshaw, Kevin Harkins, Rollie Swartwout, and Robert Cleverdon. Lisa Nelson also spoke against the road upgrade.

Annalei Babson spoke in favor of the upgrade.

David Stevens asked if the others would like to have the Town ‘throw up’ the road and make it a ‘Trail’. Residents on Tower LN were unsure about that.

The Board said it had to consult their attorney on several issues raised and that they would deliberate within 60 days and notify all participants of their decision.

This concluded the Tower LN reclassification Hearing.

Nancy asked if the Equipment Lease with Dennis should rule out overtime for Dennis’ pay while using the machine. Dennis and David agreed that it would not incur overtime unless an emergency.

David will call Truline for a copy of the Minister’s Lot survey.

Greg will call NEKWMD to find out the best way to get rid of junk metal.

John moved and David seconded to pay Select Orders #17 amended to include payments to Cigna for $3104.61 and Scelza for $2000 and Payroll #17. Motion passed.

David moved and Nancy seconded to approve the 8/6/07 minutes. Motion passed.

Bruce Wheeler asked the Board if the State property tax prebates information was going to be public information.

John moved and David seconded to ask the Town Clerk/Treasure NOT to release prebate information without the property owners consent. Motion passed. Greg to seek further VLCT advise.

John moved and David seconded that based on the Clerk/Treasure’s recommendation, to set the Municipal 2007 Tax Rate at $0.3402 per $100. Motion passed.

John moved and David seconded to have John call Gosselin’s Well Drilling to analyze and recommend what the Town should do with our water system. Motion passed. John and Gerald will meet with Gosselin’s.

Greg reported that the first half Milfoil Grant payment of $7009.50 had been received.

Jereme LeBlanc presented his most recent milfoil survey map.

Nancy will call ANR for their recommendation on picking Elodea.

David moved and John seconded to accept the recent Generator(s) bid from Catamount Electric. Motion passed.

John will work out the details with Catamount.

Correspondence was read.

The Board asked Debi to research the North Beach deed for any restrictions on charging large groups for the use of the beach.

John moved and David seconded to adjourn at 9:07 PM. Motion passed.
