Select board Meeting Minutes
Of
October 18, 2005
In attendance: John Alexander (Chairperson), David Stevens & Nancy
Mallary Select board members. Citizens-Debi Rash, Gerald Saindon, Louisa Dotoli,
Vince Dotoli & Carmen Anderson.
At 6:00 p.m. the meeting was called to order by John Alexander.
Health Meeting- no report.
Road foreman report- no report.
Approval of minutes from previous meetings- Motion by Nancy and
seconded by John to approve October 4, 2005 Select board meeting. Passed
unanimously.
Citizens comments-
Motion by Nancy Mallary, Seconded by David Stevens to have The Westmore
Association’s address changed/forwarded to the Town Clerk’s office for the
off season. Passed unanimously.
Reports:
- Discussion of audit. Motion by Nancy seconded by David for Greg to call
Rosalie @ Beshaw to find out the date expected for the Draft Audit Report.
Passed unanimously.
Old Business:
Motion by Nancy seconded by David for David to get the final estimates from
Greg and see Woody to find out when the truck will be ready. Passed
unanimously.
Motion by Nancy seconded by David for Gerry Saindon to look for a "life
trapper" who would take two beavers from the dam on the Willoughby Lake
outlet $50 each and get back to John. Passed unanimously.
Carmen Anderson shared information that The Westmore Association is pursuing
Rte. 5A large vehicle use concerns with the State. A contingency from all the
towns on Rte 5A had a meeting in Montpelier with state and federal officials
to discuss the issue. It had been discovered that Maine and New Hampshire have
already passed a law allowing higher load limits on their interstate highways.
Motion by David, seconded by Nancy, David will talk with Dennis RE Gravel
Grant and sign a compliance/completion form. Passed unanimously.
New Business
:
- Motion by Nancy seconded by David for Greg to place an ad in the
Chronicle next week to ask for trash pick up bids for the year 2006. Bids
are due on or before 11/15 at 6:00 PM. Passed unanimously.
- Gerry Saindon was given permission to ask Dennis to get the dock out of
the water.
- The listers gave a presentation of tax mapping and re-appraisals. They
were asked to write a letter for the Town Report detailing their request,
including a budget. They were also asked to send a letter to the State
saying we will be taking the re-appraisal issue to Town Meeting to be
voted on.
- Motion by Nancy seconded by David to approve up to $240 per week for the
assistant town clerk position thru 12/31. Passed unanimously.
- Motion by Nancy seconded by David for John to sign a letter to Blue
Cross taking Pam off coverage and to replace Bev with Greg as an
authorized person to deal with our account. Passed unanimously.
- Motion by Nancy seconded by David that David will talk to Dennis RE the
gravel grant for Town Road 22. Passed unanimously.
- Motion by Nancy seconded by David for Greg to write Dale Perron RE
status of Old Cottage Lane classification. David to follow up with Mr.
Perron. Passed unanimously.
- Motion by David seconded by John for Nancy to write a letter thanking
Kathy White and Pricilla Aldrich for their help with Town Clerk
assistance. Passed unanimously.
Select Orders 21 and payroll were approved with the exception of the
Newport school bill which should be forwarded to OCSU.
Motion by David seconded by Nancy to adjourn the meeting. Unanimously
passed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM.
