Selectboard Meeting Minutes

Of

October 4, 2005

In attendance: John Alexander (Chairperson) & Nancy Mallary Selectboard members. Citizens- Dick Simpson, Gerald Saindon, Gail Brown (municipal office fence report), Bruce Wheeler, Anne Alexander, & Carmen Anderson.

At 6:00 p.m. the meeting was called to order by John Alexander.

Health Meeting- no report.

Road foreman report- no report.

Broad band discussion- see below.*

 

Approval of minutes from previous meetings- Motion by Nancy and seconded by John to approve September 20, 2005 Selectboard meeting. Passed unanimously. Motion by Nancy and seconded by John to approve September 23, 2005 Special Town meeting as amended. Passed unanimously.

Citizens comments- Carmen Anderson shared information that The Westmore Association is pursuing Rte. 5A large vehicle use concerns with the State. This includes towns on 5A from West Burke to West Charlestown. She will keep the Board informed of the ongoing efforts. These large vehicles are not allowed on the interstate…but travel on 5A.

Reports: Class IV road policy amendment…waiting for Dennis’ input.

Motion by Nancy seconded by John for Greg to get state forms for Health Officers to Randi Pickle-Rosenstein to complete. Passed unanimously.

 

Old Business: Gail Brown gave an update on the quote from Green Mountain Landscaping for the Municipal office fence. Motion by Nancy seconded by John to accept quote not to exceed $1,500.00 as per original specifications. Passed unanimously. Gail will contact G.G.L. to confirm.

New Business: Lake outlet/beaver dam. Motion by Nancy seconded by John for Greg to contact Kim Klein, Game Warden, to get suggestions as to how to resolve! Passed unanimously.

Landfill Application: Motion by Nancy seconded by John for Greg to contact Guy Grenier for information to complete the recertification of the Westmore Transfer Station form which is overdue. Passed unanimously.

Bonding: Motion by Nancy seconded by John for Greg to contact VLCT to enroll for bonding and Health, disability and life insurance coverage with the understanding there is a sixty day probation period. Passed unanimously.

Executive Session: Motion by Nancy seconded by John to move the meeting into executive session for personnel issues at 7:51 PM. Passed unanimously.

Motion by Nancy seconded by John to adjourn executive session at 8:02 PM Passed unanimously.

Clerk’s compensation: Motion by Nancy seconded by John to pay Greg $15 per hour on an interim basis. His salary will be reviewed in November. Passed unanimously.

Select Orders 20 and payroll were approved.

Motion by Nancy seconded by John to adjourn the meeting. Unanimously passed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 PM.
