Transfer Station Information

To: ALL WESTMORE RESIDENTS

All household trash & recyclables for pick up MUST be in CLEAR plastic bags!!!

The following are some examples of things that DO NOT go into household trash and must be taken to the Transfer Station by you or special arrangement with our contracted hauler or other private hauler:

CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION MATERIALS (SHEETROCK, INSULATION, ETC.) even if broken up!

FURNITURE- broken or whole.

APPLIANCES- small or large.

CHILDRENS’ PLASTIC TOYS.

ANY WOOD THAT IS PAINTED OR STAINED.

The Selectboard has authorized our hauler to reject any trash that is NOT in a CLEAR plastic bag or that has any of the above mentioned or like items!

Waste oil & car batteries may be taken directly to the Waste District Depot in Lyndonville at 29 Church St. between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

Alkyd paint, lacquer, thinners, and stain cans may be put into to mainstream of trash IF EMPTY & DRY!! Latex based cans may be mainstreamed IF DRY!

ALL PROPANE GAS CONTAINERS MUST BE RETURNED TO A DEALER!

Alkyd paint, lacquers, thinners, and stain are among liquids that are HAZARDOUS WASTE!!

The Hazardous Waste Day nearest to Westmore this summer is in (t.b.a.).
